It's a bedtime tradition that began with Little Nutbrown Hare, and each night we try to outdo the last...I love you to the moon and back...to the beach and back...to the mountians...and one of my favorites, "to Jesus and the angels" and back...We never imagined we would be saying, I love you to Africa and back...it seems like the furthest imaginable place, but yet in God's perfect timing, we plan to go.... to Africa and back!!! And when we get back, we will have another little cheek to kiss goodnight...please keep us in your prayers and enjoy this journey with us!

Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Steve Allen Rose!!!

The wedding was absolutely beautiful! The ceremony was held on a cliff overlooking Snow Canyon, with an amazing backdrop! The weather was perfect and Steve Allen and Octavia looked like a fairytale bride and groom...I've posted a few pictures and will add more as I go through them. Emmaline had the privilege of being their flower girl and did great! She felt shy as soon as everyone turned around to look at her, but with a little coaxing started to walk and throw her petals. Lyla was there, standing about half way down the aisle, so I told her to just walk to Lyla and then walk to Uncle Steve...She walked to Lyla and looked so relieved to have made it and just started showing Lyla the petals! I got to join her for the rest of the walk to the front! Emmaline walked down the aisle to an instrumental bluegrass arrangement of "To make you feel my love" and Octavia walked down to the traditional " Bridal Chorus" bluegrass style! The wedding was followed that evening by a beautiful reception at Octavia's parents home. There they had a bluegrass band that provided hours of entertainment! The fairytale day ended with the lighting of 39 floating lanterns drifting into the sky... Congratulations Steve and Octavia!!!

A LONG overdue update!!!

So I know it's been over a year since I've updated and instead of trying to get everything caught up, I'm just going to start with where we are now! We are so excited to be in Nevada to celebrate Steve Allen and Octavia's wedding! We flew into Las Vegas on Friday and spent the day yesterday being tourists... We drove the Strip (that's as much time as we spent there, we plan to comeback sometime, just the two of us!) then went to the Hoover Dam... So cool... I had been there as a kid, bit I'm so glad I got to go back. The new bridge is absolutely amazing! Today we are driving to St.George, Utah (where Octavia's parents live) where the wedding will be on Thursday... We plan to detour by Valley of Fire State Park. ..
Here are some pictures of us so far! Ps: if your not able to view the whole picture click on each picture...

Happy Summer!!!
I thought it would be forever until I got to say that! We are definitely enjoying summer activities... Since my last post we've...

Celebrated the 4th of July...

Celebrated Macey's 2nd birthday...
We've learned to cherish everyday that we have with Dixie, because we've learned that she has cancer and might not have much time with us...this means lots of fun doggie outings and lots of extra treats and snuggles...

We've...
smiled
had treats
played outside
made memories...

Traveled...

We've made a quick trip to Chattanooga to visit cousin Cooper (and Uncle Corey and Aunt Renee) and then on to Greysville to visit Grampa Retzer, Uncle Richard and Nauna and Papa for Father's Day...

We're off to a busy start this summer but we've enjoyed the memories we've made and are looking forward to all the summer has in store! I realize more and more how quickly time seems to pass and how important it is to cherish everyday...

(please disregard this video block...I tried to delete it and can't... I'll post was I was meaning to on the next post... :)
