It's a bedtime tradition that began with Little Nutbrown Hare, and each night we try to outdo the last...I love you to the moon and back...to the beach and back...to the mountians...and one of my favorites, "to Jesus and the angels" and back...We never imagined we would be saying, I love you to Africa and back...it seems like the furthest imaginable place, but yet in God's perfect timing, we plan to go.... to Africa and back!!! And when we get back, we will have another little cheek to kiss goodnight...please keep us in your prayers and enjoy this journey with us!

Homestudy progress!

We're making progress on our homestudy...we have our certified birth certificates, our marriage certificate, Emmaline's vaccination records, we've had blood work drawn, we have our physicals scheduled for next Wednesday, we've submitted the TBI request for background checks, I've finished my autobiography, marriage & adoption questionnaires (Chad's are almost done!) We're getting closer to being able to schedule our next homestudy visit, yay, progress!!!

Springtime in Tennessee!

One of our favorite springtime activities...strawberry picking! And it's so much more fun with friends! When we got home I emptied out Emmalines bucket & almost every single strawberry had a bite taken out of it...too good to resist!!!

First Homestudy visit!

Yesterday we had our first meeting with our caseworker for our homestudy! We learned a lot more about what the "homestudy" involves...basically at the completion of the homestudy the caseworker will have compiled a paper about us, which will be a picture of who we are... This compilation will be what the government (immigration) and our placing agency (OWAS) look at to say we are suitable to adopt. We came home with a stack of "homework".. . This homework involves a bunch of notarized documents (medical, financial, etc) & 3 essays we each have to write. I have a feeling I will end up writing 6 essays! ;-) We hope to get this stack of paperwork done within the next month so we can then schedule our next meeting! Wish us luck!!!

Family Time

We were fortunate enough to be able to spend some much needed time together as a family on Easter Sunday. We spent the day in the Ocoee area enjoying beautiful weather & sunshine!

Celebrating a Legacy

Today we are celebrating a wonderful life lived. My Grampa lived a life of generosity, always demonstrating true Christianity. His smile could light up a room. My best memory of him is the way his eyes lit up and smiled with his whole face! He lived such a pure example of Christ that I want to model my life after. Our family is SO blessed to have had this man as the cornerstone of our family! We can't wait for the day when Jesus will wake him up, but for now, as Emmaline so perfectly put it... Grampa is sleeping in Jesus' heart...
